Croom User Guide

Welcome to Croom

Croom transforms any conference room with a TV into a smart meeting room. Simply turn on the device, and it will automatically join your next scheduled meeting.


Quick Start

Starting a Meeting

  1. Turn on the TV using the power button or remote
  2. Wait for Croom to start (approximately 30 seconds)
  3. Your meeting joins automatically when it’s time

That’s it! Croom handles everything else.

During a Meeting

The meeting interface depends on which platform is being used (Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, or Webex), but common controls include:

Common Scenarios

Joining an Ad-hoc Meeting

If you need to join a meeting that’s not on the calendar:

  1. Use a laptop or phone to add the meeting to the room’s calendar
  2. Croom will detect the new meeting and join automatically
  3. Alternatively, contact IT for manual meeting entry

Changing Meeting Platforms

Croom automatically detects which platform to use based on the calendar invite. No action needed from you.

Sharing Your Screen

To share content in a meeting:

  1. From a laptop: Use the meeting’s built-in screen share feature
  2. Wireless sharing: Connect to the same network and use AirPlay/Miracast (if enabled)
  3. HDMI cable: Connect via the room’s HDMI input (if available)

Audio Issues

If you can’t hear or be heard:

  1. Check if the microphone is muted (look for mute icon)
  2. Verify the TV volume is turned up
  3. Check that the webcam is properly connected
  4. If problems persist, contact IT support

Video Issues

If the camera isn’t working:

  1. Check if video is enabled in the meeting
  2. Look for a camera indicator light on the webcam
  3. Ensure nothing is blocking the camera
  4. If problems persist, contact IT support

Croom Won’t Turn On

Check Solution
TV power Ensure TV is plugged in and turned on
HDMI input Make sure TV is on correct HDMI input
Device power Check that Croom device has power (look for lights)

Meeting Didn’t Join Automatically

Not on calendar Add meeting to room’s calendar

Calendar sync Wait 2-3 minutes for calendar to sync

Poor Audio/Video Quality

“Device Offline” Message

  1. Wait 2-3 minutes (may be temporary network issue)

Q: How does Croom know when I have a meeting?

A: Croom monitors the room’s calendar. When you invite the room to a meeting, Croom sees it and joins automatically at the scheduled time.

Q: Can I use Croom for personal calls?

A: Croom is configured for the room’s calendar only. For personal calls, use your laptop or phone.

Q: Why is the camera always on?

A: The camera indicator (if present) shows when the camera is active. It’s only used during meetings and is not recording otherwise.

A: Yes. Croom only joins meetings on the room’s calendar. No data is stored locally after meetings end.
